Introduction to Power Carving
In this class, students will carve a
claw and ball foot with the use of power carving equipment. Students will be working with
basswood blanks which have been bandsawn into a rought cabriole layout and bandsaw work
will be discussed. Students will then lay out the claw and ball design with instruction
covering the details of the placement of the talons and perfecting the symmetry of the
ball. It is recommended that students bring their own power carving equipment, some power
carving equipment is available in class.
